This article describes how to write a scholarly, academic, article.

Article Style

  • What should it look like?
  • What should it feel like?
  • Settle on a single article style then adapt that to each journal. This will require keeping an article in several versions.

Research Articles as a Business

ACM July 2015 p.8 Jonathan Turner, former CS chair, living in Sarasota, FL, replied to 'Quality vs. Quantity in Faculty Publications' p.5 . Professor Turner favors quality, as I do. He wanted a candidate to have 3 publications max, 2 where he was the major author, that is 50%+ of the intellectual content and writing. A professor seeking tenure 15 publications. A full-professor, 25 and be secondary author on at most 10.

A test article is needed. Something short, say 20 text pages, to try out submitting an article.
