This article discusses choices made in the Requirements article.

• The U. of Florida Computer Science Graduate Program (CISE-UFL)[1] has a high credit requirement, 90, but also a wide credit range for research courses, 1-15 credits. This encourages the student to tackle large research projects. This must be encouraged at every turn.

• Academic Load
  • No time limits were placed on the courses.
  • No credit or course limit per semester or year was made.
  • No course sequence was mentioned.
  • A five year time-frame was suggested for the student.

All these choices were made to maximize flexibility in the student's schedule. Life's interruptions must not be allowed to crush an academic career.
