ACM Comm 2016 11 Sex as an Algorithm (Notes) (The Red-Blue Tree Theorem)

The Red-Blue Three Theorem is an unpublished work that describes the sexual / asexual species ratio using simple branching rules.

  • The tree is \(n\)-ary with only red or blue nodes.
  • Each level is a generation.
  • Red nodes are sexual species.
  • Blue nodes are asexual species.

In this example sexual / asexual ratio grows to 2000:1 in about 50 generations. As in all tree algorithms the branching rules are everything. Now to figure out what Evolution's branching rules regarding the sexual / asexual is.
